It's National Estate Planning Awareness Week, so let's talk about the part nobody thinks about until it's urgent: getting the documents signed.

First, the important part. I'm not an attorney. I don't give legal advice and I don't prepare documents. Your attorney does that, and they do it well.

What I do is notarize them. As a Florida Remote Online Notary, I can notarize documents for attorneys and their clients anywhere, securely and on a recorded, ID-verified platform.

Let's clear this up once and for all.

Is remote online notarization legal? Yes. Florida law authorizes it, and I'm a commissioned Florida Remote Online Notary.

Is it safe? More than you'd think. Every session includes ID verification, identity questions the signer has to answer, and a recorded session that's securely stored. It's honestly more thorough than a lot of in-person signings.

Is it accepted? In most cases, yes. And I confirm with the receiving party before we start, so nobody gets a surprise at the finish line.

Does it save time? Your client can sign from the couch, the office, a hotel, or the deck of a boat. No travel. No rescheduling. You're welcome.

Happy Columbus Day from the notary who would have asked for ID, a destination, and a second opinion on the directions.

Sailing across an ocean toward India and ending up somewhere else entirely is the most expensive wrong turn in history. Nobody checked the details. Nobody confirmed the plan.

That's my whole job, actually. I make sure the right person is signing the right document in the right place, before anything gets finalized.
