On June 12th we honor a love story that changed history.
In 1967, Mildred and Richard Lovingās fight for the right to be married helped ensure that love could no longer be restricted by race under the law.
Nearly six decades later, their courage lives on in every couple who gets to stand hand in hand and say, āI do.ā
As a wedding officiant, I have the privilege of witnessing love in many beautiful forms. Different backgrounds, different cultures, different journeys, but the same promise: to choose one another, every single day.
As a mother to a beautiful biracial daughter, this day also holds a special place in my heart. My daughter, Kaydince, is a reminder that love has the power to cross boundaries, create families, and leave a legacy that extends far beyond ourselves.
Love is powerful. Love is courageous. Love is worth celebrating.
Happy belated Loving Day. š¤š¤
