Family has a way of showing up in more than one place. For over 15 years, Melissa has poured her heart into the EverMean Evergreens, Jason Denton’s daughters, Ellie and Liza are apart of her clogging family. When RMA needed a new office manager seven years ago, Melissa was the first name that came to mind and she quickly became part of the RMA family, too.
Seeing Melissa, Liza, and Ella dance together center stage at the Fair was such a special full-circle moment. We’re incredibly thankful for Melissa, Rob and the joy they bring to our community! 💚

It is with great sadness that we share that we have lost a member of the Rochelle, McCulloch & Aulds family, Alan Poindexter. Alan was a gifted attorney who was insightful, a real student of the law, and bulldog tough. His legal career was spent in the courtroom fighting for the rights of his clients, and they were always jealously served by him.
Although Alan left the firm last year to take on the role of in-house counsel for one of his former clients, West Wilson Utility District, he remained a bright light in our universe, who frequently returned to check in on his RMA family. Born and raised near Paducah, Kentucky, Alan was a character that was larger than life. He was one of the world’s great story tellers, and he drew those stories from a life rich in experiences that was part “Andy Griffith Show” and part “Deadwood”: growing up in rural Kentucky (which he still considered “home”); his days as a college baseball player at Eastern Kentucky University, having once tried out for the U.S. Olympic team; his times as a patrol officer with Metro Nashville; his adventures as an undercover agent with the drug task force; his stint as a middle-school girls basketball coach, spurred on by his nieces; his many court room encounters with attorneys, judges, court reporters and opposing parties on behalf of his clients; and his many, many, many hunting, fishing and camping experiences. Above all, Alan loved to tell stories about his times with his wife, Susan, and their son Jason. Alan lost Susan to a heroic battle with cancer several years ago, but he kept her memory alive in his heart, sharing stories and memories of their time together. He also loved to share stories about his adventures with his grandchildren, proudly brandishing the latest pictures of his time with them. He was a great advocate and champion for our firm and frequently shared how proud he was to be a member of RMA. That feeling was mutual.

Henry David Thoreau once wrote, “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.” Although he is gone much too early, there’s no question that Alan Poindexter lived.
