Stainless steel instruments come out of a medical autoclave at approximately 260 degrees F. They must be cooled before contact with patient skin during a surgical operation. We had a good outcome this week for our client who was allegedly burned by a scalding hot stainless steel surgical instrument. The patient was under general anesthesia and had no idea what had happened until she woke up in the recovery room. Laird Law investigated the case and uncovered what the medical records were hiding.
