Not every client’s needs fit into a neat category (Estate Planning, Divorce, Real Estate Contracts, etc.) and sometimes it’s the one who allows us to think/draw outside the lines who ends up being the most memorable.

Late last year, a long-time client and friend asked us to be the conduit to several anonymous donations the client wished to contribute to worthy causes. We were delighted to do so and thoroughly enjoyed coordinating contributions that resulted in a Title 1 Elementary School being able to purchase a book a month for every classroom for an entire school year and allowed another to pay for the training, supplies and veterinary care for a school-wide service dog.

In addition to these wonderful outcomes, we have been able to see the impact of our client’s generosity by effecting the match of a Service Dog to a local Veteran. “Trooper” (formerly Atascocita Hafez) is a retired Florida racing greyhound with 80 races and 17 first place wins in his background. He joined Awesome Greyhound Adoptions’ “Hounds & Heroes” Program to prepare for his post-racing career as a Service Dog to a Veteran. Located in Boynton Beach, this all-volunteer program implements the extensive training necessary to make these former racers into Certified Service Animals and matches them to Veterans in need. After months of such training (not every dog has it in him/her to be a Service Dog!), Trooper was recently partnered with his “battle buddy” Ross Trevino, a former Army Artillery service member who lives in Greenacres.

While the current pandemic has delayed our meeting of Ross and Trooper personally, they have promised to drop by when the time is right. We can’t wait to meet both of these heroes.

Having a wonderful and generous client gave us a look into the wonderful world of altruism and being even tangentially involved was a truly uplifting experience. There is no doubt the “butterfly effect” of such giving will continue to ripple out and create positivity for years to come.

We welcome the many and varied ways clients look to us to help them and look forward to future opportunities to “pay it forward” on behalf of generous clients who are interested in doing the right thing.

ATTENTION: COVID-19 FRONT-LINE HEALTHCARE STAFF, RELIEF WORKERS, FIRST RESPONDERS AND ASSISTED LIVING/NURSING HOME EMPLOYEES.

We Americans are known for our “Can-Do” spirit.
We built our country upon it.
Depend on it during good times and bad.
Celebrate it especially well around Independence Day.

We also know this year presents challenges to celebrating. Coronavirus has gone from a pandemic expected to be a short-term problem to a long-term, imbedded healthcare crisis.

While it persists, so do you.
You are still in the trenches experiencing the worst of the pandemic first-hand.
And as we’ve watched you work, we kept asking ourselves how we could help you.

Here is what we decided: We would like to offer at no charge the drafting and ex*****on of a Last Will & Testament, Durable Power of Attorney, Healthcare Surrogate and Living Will for you and your spouse/significant other.

To ensure everyone’s safety, we have protocols that include Zoom or Conference calls to discuss your needs, with in-person appointments available (as well as the signing of your documents) in our outdoor trellis with social distancing and other safety measures in place.

If you call us between now and the end of July, we will schedule your initial consultation. You’ll just need to provide us proof of your position.

Call or email us at (561) 744 - 4600 or [email protected].

We hope this is one small way we can say Thank You.

Sometimes what we think makes a "good Will" isn't the case. Adam Gumson and Jeff Lichtenstein discuss "What Makes a Good Will". Take a listen.
