A very exciting domino-style closing is officially behind all of us! 🏡🏡✈️🏡

Congratulations to my clients on the sale of their Shorewood home -- that broke a sales price record, I might add - and on the purchase of their beautiful new home just a few short miles away. The new home? Also one of my listings! Those seller clients just happened to be leaving the Land of Lincoln for a bright new chapter in the Sunshine State.

We had a full-blown domino effect involving multiple homes, attorneys, lenders, title companies performing last minute changes, an out of state purchase in a different time zone, and enough moving pieces to make everyone question their sanity at least once. ALL CLOSING ON THE SAME DAY! 🤪

This series of transactions was a reminder that there is so much happening behind the scenes in real estate that people never see. There are countless conversations, problem-solving sessions, and moving parts that have to come together at exactly the right time. Sometimes it all comes down to the final hours, but when everyone works toward the same goal, amazing things can happen.

What makes this story even sweeter? BOTH couples were married on the EXACT same day, and their children are the EXACT same ages—born just a month or two apart. If that’s not a real estate match made in heaven, I don’t know what is.💫✨

Roughly 43,000 listings connected to MRED - known most commonly as the MLS - disappeared from Zillow amid the ongoing dispute between the two companies. It’s a huge reminder of why it pays to work directly with a real estate agent instead of relying solely on third-party search apps.

Sites like Zillow are powerful search tools, but they are still dependent on agreements, syndication feeds, and platform policies. When disputes happen behind the scenes, buyers and sellers can suddenly lose visibility overnight — even though homes are still actively on the market.

✨This is exactly why having an agent matters. We have direct MLS access, real-time updates, customized searches, broker network connections, and information consumers simply don’t see on public sites. While apps are great for browsing, they don’t always show the complete market picture.✨
