What balancing life as a Realtor and a mom actually looks like.

For every closing, there’s a showing where I got home, realized I left every light on, and shot off a panicked apology text to the listing agent.

For every DM and conversation that turns into a client, there’s a sleepless night I laid awake wondering if I handled everything to the best of my ability.

For every frustration my clients feel, I feel it right alongside them. Caring this much about the work I do means the line between work time & family time can get blurred. That’s a balance I work on every single day (and why pilates has been such a game changer for my mental health!)

I’ve been doing this since I was 22. I’ve been running our brokerage for nearly six years now. And I’m raising two small kids in the middle of all of it. So when I say I get it & I’ll keep it real with you, I mean it.

You might hear my kids in the background of a 7am call because they want breakfast and we’re trying to hold a deal together. You might get a text from me after bed time is finally done. Either way, I’m here to see you through your whole journey.

If you've been on Zillow today searching for your next home...you're missing 43,000 listings in our area.

This morning, Zillow lost access to our MLS after refusing to follow the rules. 43,000 homes across Will, Kendall, DuPage, Grundy and surrounding areas are no longer showing up on Zillow or Trulia.

An important distinction: those 43,000 homes didn't come off the market. Just a website. The MLS, where your listing originates, is working. So is your search, if you're working with an agent.

The bigger reminder here is one I've been making for years - the app on your phone isn't the market. It's a window into the market. And right now, that window is missing 43,000 homes.

I talked a first time buyer out of a house they loved. 🥹

They were ready to write an offer (no really…they told me to get started on it moments after we walked through the door).

But based on conversations we'd had before starting our search, something was screaming out to me: this layout wasn't what they'd envisioned years from now. I could tell the excitement was starting to drown out the things they'd told me just a few weeks earlier were total deal breakers.

So I told them what I'd tell my own family: "I know you love this one, but here are the things I'm seeing that I want to make sure you're noticing, too."

They were relieved that we took a step back to make sure this was really IT for them, long term. They'll tell you now that they would've compromised without even really realizing it, simply because they were so caught up in the excitement of it all.

A few weeks later, we found *the* home. They're still in it 8 years later, and it has grown with them exactly as they'd originally pictured.

Here's the thing about house hunting: the excitement is real. Sometimes it's so overwhelming that you'll start talking yourself into compromising on the exact things you swore you wouldn't. That's where I come in.

If we've ever looked at homes together, you've probably heard me say something like, "I promise I'm not a Debbie Downer - it's just my job to make sure you see these things."

The decision is always yours to make. I just refuse to let you make it blind. You’ll know the good, the not so good, and the inconvenient. I'm here to make sure you're making decisions with all the information, not just the butterflies.
