Cross-training with legal and mental health colleagues at the AFCC international conference in Seattle offers so much in the way of professional growth. Even after 25 years in the field I learn at every annual conclave.

Achieved insights to help families deal with special needs children, steer high conflict couples through turmoil of transition- and learned about latest treatments for anxiety and depression which affect nearly all family court litigants.

Excited to meet experts focused on changes in brain development and health of children exposed to domestic abuse. Things we always felt in our souls are proven true.

Yale’s Dr. James Kimmel introduced the concept of revenge addiction, and the antidote. Forgiveness. It’s proposed as a new addition to the next DSM edition.

The conclave was at once intense and comforting. Fellow Family Lawyers, we’re not alone out there.

Winding down with beautiful vistas, great art and good food. Seattle has it all.
