May's first breaks through the clouds 🌧️ to shine on Patrick McLister of Salisbury, McLister & Foley, LLP.
Q: Why are you involved with FCAR?
A: My former law partner Todd Salisbury and present law partner John Foley encouraged me to get involved in FCAR's Forms Committee. I have given legal updates at the lunch meetings and also keep an open phone line to answer real estate legal and contract questions from Realtors. Presently, I serve on the Membership Events committee with a dedicated and fun group of Realtors and Strategic Partners. I've also enjoyed seeing my daughter Natalie Lee flourish in her position as Operations Manager at FCAR.
Q: What does 'collaboration' 🤝 mean to you in this industry?
A: Collaboration in this industry is when the various components of a real estate transaction—such as Realtors, Inspectors, Appraisers, Mortgage lenders, and the Settlement Attorney—all work together in a competent, professional, and respectful manner to help the buyers and sellers achieve their goal of home ownership or selling their house to be able to move on to the next chapter of their lives. FCAR has many competing Strategic Partners and Realtors but there is great collegiality among all the members to work toward our common goal of making FCAR the top association in the state and the clients we serve satisfied after the settlement is over.
Q: What's a fun fact about you? 🫡 What are you passionate about outside of work?
A: I served as a Captain in the US Marine Corps, Judge Advocate division after law school which gave me great experience dealing with many facets of the law and learning how to interact with and assist the many different personalities and talents that make up our wonderful country. I don't wear it on my sleeve, but I do try to integrate my faith into the work we do at our firm and help those less fortunate than ourselves whenever we get the opportunity.
Outside of work, I've always been passionate about my wife and family and also sports and physical fitness as a participant and a a youth coach when my children were growing up. When time permits, I also enjoy being able to travel and see the beautiful places in our country and abroad.
Please join us in thanking Pat for his years of volunteer service to his fellow FCAR members. Stay tuned as we continue highlighting the members who make our association special.
