The Citibank lawsuit is filed! Client was a victim of identity theft. Is your credit report accurate?

Up at the office on a sunny Saturday afternoon drafting a lawsuit against Citibank. Client had used her Citibank account for 13 years, always paying timely. When her account was compromised and someone ran up about $3,000 in bogus charges they refused to help her.

Is your credit report accurate?

Crown Asset Management non-suits!

In a trial on merits the Judge would not going to allow them to authenticate Citibanks documents. Once their evidence was excluded they dropped the case. That's about $27,000 staying home and one very happy client.

Is your credit report accurate?

Just learned that Trans Union deleted an inaccurate trade line. Client was a victim of identity theft. Unfortunately it took suing them to get it done.

Jefferson Capital Systems non-suits

They claim to have bought a charged off post repossession deficiency account from Exeter finance. When challenged on deficiency cases the creditor must demonstrate that proper notice was given before the auction and that disposition of the collateral was done in a commercially reasonable fashion.

Here they chose to drop their case at the onset of trial. That's about $11,000 that won't change hands.

LVNV takes nothing.

Covered a hearing for a friend this morning. LVNV funding took nothing because they failed to identify any of the intermediate creditors in their lawsuit, as required by the Texas Justice Court Rules.

Is your credit report accurate?

Taking a dispute letter and about 20 pages of police reports and FTC affidavits to the post office because a client's credit report is showing inaccurate trade lines due to identity theft.

Would you know what to do if you saw something wrong on your credit report?

Stearns Bank non-suits!!!!!

On the night before trial they elect to drop their case. On a post repossession deficiency case the creditor must prove that the disposition of the collateral must be done in a commercially reasonable fashion.

That's about $35,000 staying home and 1 very happy client.

Anytime you are denied credit you should be sent a document called an adverse action letter. This will tell you atleast generally the reasons for the denial. They will also tell you which credit bureaus they get the information from.

This letter entitles you to a free copy of your credit report so that you can see exactly what the bank or lender was looking at when they denied your credit.
