In case you missed it, Sam Cannon spoke with KUNC in February after OSHA issued citations and nearly $250,000 in proposed fines following the deaths of six workers who were killed by hydrogen sulfide exposure at a Weld County dairy in 2025.

Toxic gas exposure is not just a winter problem. Hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, and other dangerous gases can reach deadly levels any time of year, and when employers or property owners fail to protect the people in their care, there must be consequences.

Sam is representing families of victims alongside attorney Ryan Spear, who noted that no fine can compare to the loss of life. For these families, the priority is accountability and making sure something like this never happens again.

Founding partner Sam Cannon spoke with KOAA 5 about a second lawsuit filed against a Pueblo landlord over carbon monoxide poisoning claims at the same apartment unit. Sam, who represents both the Quintana brothers and now Rachelle Clementi, said Clementi only connected her nearly two years of unexplained symptoms to carbon monoxide after seeing news coverage of the Quintanas' case, and that the landlord allegedly re-rented the unit without ever having the furnace inspected or repaired by a licensed technician.

Summer means more cars on the road, more road trips, and more distracted driving. If you're injured in a crash this season, the attorney you choose matters more than you might think.

At Cannon Law, we handle car accident cases in two ways. For complex cases involving serious injuries, we have the trial experience to fight all the way through a verdict if needed. For more straightforward cases where another driver was cited and you got medical care within 24 hours, we offer a 25% contingency fee, well below what most firms charge, so you keep more of your recovery.

Either way, you pay nothing unless we win.

Founding partner Sam Cannon spoke with Denver7 about how Colorado's competitive rental market is allowing dangerous conditions to go unchecked, leaving vulnerable tenants with little recourse against negligent landlords.

Sam spoke to a troubling pattern: when people can't afford to leave, landlords face less pressure to make repairs. The story centers on a Pueblo apartment where two sets of tenants were poisoned by carbon monoxide in the same unit. The landlord failed to maintain and service the furnace properly, leading to dangerous carbon monoxide levels in the unit and severe health effects for the tenants.

When someone is seriously injured, the last thing they should have to worry about is paying thousands of dollars just to access their own medical records.

HB 26-1414 has passed, capping medical records fees and establishing clear delivery timelines for injury victims in Colorado. Sam Cannon testified before the Colorado Senate Finance Committee in support of the bill on behalf of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, drawing on his direct experience representing clients navigating the aftermath of serious injury.

As Sam put it, medical records are not an administrative formality. They are foundational to evaluating a case, advising clients, and moving claims forward. The previous system created a real and unnecessary obstacle, especially for the people who need help the most.

Cannon Law will continue to advocate for a fairer system.

In case you missed it, Denver7 covered a lawsuit filed on behalf of two Denver tenants who allege they suffered permanent brain damage after being exposed to carbon monoxide in their apartment.

Founding Partner Sam Cannon represents Brandon and Damian Quintana, who claim their landlord failed to maintain the building’s furnace and did not install required CO detectors despite repeated complaints. The brothers were hospitalized in April 2024 and continue to deal with long-term neurological injuries.

Sam told Denver7 that incidents like this are often entirely preventable, and that landlords who ignore their obligations must be held responsible.
