What is the Texas Stock Exchange?

Think of a stock exchange as... A marketplace for ownership in companies. Instead of buying a home... Investors buy shares of businesses. The exchange provides the technology, rules, and oversight that allow buyers and sellers to trade those shares efficiently.

Examples include
• New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)

• Nasdaq

• Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE)

Can Anyone Walk In and Buy Stocks?

Not exactly. The Texas Stock Exchange is not a brokerage office where you walk in and purchase stock. Think of it like this:

You don't buy your ticket from the stadium.

Dallas Just Gained a $1 Billion Fintech Company Augustus has officially reached a $1 billion valuation after raising $180 million in new funding.

The company has also signed a five-year lease for approximately 5,000 square feet of office space in Uptown Dallas, where 20 to 30 employees are expected to work initially. Augustus currently employs about 50 people and reportedly plans to grow to approximately 100 over time.

💼 More business investment means more high-paying jobs.
🏡 More jobs often lead to more people relocating, renting, and eventually buying homes.
📈 More companies choosing Dallas strengthens our local economy and supports long-term housing demand.

So what exactly does Augustus do?

Think of them as building the next generation of banking infrastructure. Instead of money taking days to move through multiple banks around the world, Augustus wants to help banks move U.S. dollars faster, more securely, and with fewer middlemen using modern technology and AI. I attended the MetroTex Broker Summit alongside brokers from across North Texas.

One of the things I value most about our profession is the opportunity to learn directly from industry leaders and advocates who are helping shape the future of real estate. Hearing from MetroTex leadership and experienced brokerage professionals about upcoming initiatives, industry changes, technology, advocacy, and best practices reinforced the importance of continually growing so we can better serve our clients and communities.

As a broker, I believe education doesn't end when you earn your license. Staying involved, learning from industry experts, and collaborating with fellow professionals allows me to provide better guidance, stronger representation, and a higher level of service to every buyer, seller, landlord, investor, and tenant I have the privilege of working with.

🏡 Has your rental been sitting on the market longer than expected?

Most owners assume the answer is to lower the price. Sometimes that's true but not always. In my experience, rentals lease because of three key factors:

Price – Is it competitive with today's market?
Location – Are you marketing the lifestyle and neighborhood, not just the house?
Condition – Does your property stand out from the competition?

But there are dozens of other details that can make or break a lease...

• Are your photos attracting clicks?
• Are you competing against 5 homes—or 50?
• Should you offer a concession instead of reducing the rent?
• Is your pet policy limiting your applicant pool?
• Is your showing process creating unnecessary barriers?
• Are your application requirements eliminating qualified tenants?
• What makes your property different from every other rental available today?

Before making another price reduction, it may be worth taking a step back and looking at the entire leasing strategy.

I offer a Rental Performance Analysis that evaluates how your property compares to the current market and identifies opportunities to help reduce time on market and attract qualified tenants.
