Our Shareholder, Jennifer Jensen, recently enjoyed some time on the Big Island in Hawaii attending the Western States Bar Conference (WSBC). Other attendees from North Dakota included: Executive Director of the State Bar Association of North Dakota (SBAND) Tony Weiler, President of SBAND Deb Hoffarth, and President-Elect of SBAND Rob Manly.
The Western States Bar Conference is a forum for the mutual interchange of ideas among the leaders of the sixteen WSBC member states. In addition to our very own State Bar Association of North Dakota, the WSBC includes Members from the Alaska Bar Association, State Bar of Arizona, The State Bar of California, Hawaii State Bar Association, Idaho State Bar, State Bar of Montana, State Bar of Nevada, New Mexico State Bar, Oklahoma Bar Association, Oregon State Bar, State Bar of South Dakota, State Bar of Texas, Utah State Bar, Washington State Bar Association, and the Wyoming State Bar. On average the WSBC garners between 70-90 attendees – usually Bar Executives, as well as Board Officers and Members. The purpose of the WSBC is for the western states to come together to discuss cutting edge issues for the profession, bar governance, and how best to manage their associations.
We are proud to share that Jennifer is the newest President of the Western States Bar Conference, and the first female from North Dakota! In this role, she will collaborate with the Executive Director of the Utah State Bar, Elizabeth Wright, to develop programming and themes for the 2027 WSBC, which will take place in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
