The City of Dodge City Public Works Department is working on replacing valves at the intersection of 14th Avenue and Beeson Street, as shown on the map below. To complete the repair, water service in the area will be temporarily shut off between 2:30 PM and 3:00 PM. The temporary water shutoff will affect locations near the intersection. The repair is expected to take approximately 2 hours to complete. The City of Dodge City apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates your patience.

The Kansas Department of Labor is notifying more than 8,500 individuals that they received overpayments for unemployment insurance, including some issued during the COVID-19 pandemic, and must repay the funds.

In Lexington, laid-off Tyson employees lined up as early as 2 a.m. trying to get financial assistance. The turnout overwhelmed local nonprofits tasked with helping. Now, the local Community Foundation has paused its efforts to distribute aid money as funds dwindle.

“… There’s a lot of us,” Magdalena Barrios said in Spanish through a translator. “I can’t say, you know, ‘You have to help me now,’ because I realize there’s a lot of people.”
