Get out and vote. If you haven't already, go now.

Our ancestors fought and died for this right. They were beaten, arrested, and killed so we could walk into a voting booth and have our voices heard. And now too many of us take it for granted. That's not acceptable.

Change doesn't happen because we hope for it. It happens because we show up. It happens because we do our part. Today is your part.

If you're in Michigan's 12th Congressional District, I'm asking you to vote for my friend and law school classmate Byron Nolen. He's the real deal. A man of the people who actually cares about us and will fight to bring real change to Washington.

Don't sit this one out. Don't wait. Go vote today.

Micro transit or whatever the community needs is the future. We're committed to providing solutions that fit each of the 43 communities we serve, recognizing that one size does not fit all. Many residents may not want to drive due to gas prices or insurance costs.

Dedicated youth striving for skilled trades and community colleges face immense barriers due to inadequate public transit. Without this millage, the path to education and opportunity closes. It's unacceptable for students to endure 2-hour commutes via disjointed bus systems or walking, impacting their ability to learn.

In medical school, Anthony Eid learned that life expectancy is shaped by far more than what happens inside a doctor’s office. Access to safe housing, healthy food, reliable transportation, quality schools, clean air, and nearby healthcare can all influence whether a community thrives.

That means health policy cannot begin and end with insurance coverage. It must also address the conditions people live in every day.

Where you live should not decide whether you get a longer, healthier life.

Falling behind on rent should not mean facing eviction court alone.

Detroit’s Right to Counsel program gives eligible tenants access to legal representation before they can be removed from their homes. The program was supported with American Rescue Plan funding, but much of that federal money is now gone.

Anthony Eid believes Detroit should continue funding the program and give residents who are struggling a fair chance to remain housed.

Because the alternative is not simply an eviction notice. It can mean homelessness, family disruption, missed work, interrupted education, and even greater costs for the entire community.

Keeping people in their homes is not playing favorites. It is responsible public policy.
