🚨 New Texas Law Limits Non-Competes for Dentists, Nurses, and PAs 🚨

Starting September 1, 2025, healthcare employers in Texas will face strict new limits on non-compete agreements under SB 1318. The law caps buyout amounts, restricts the geographic scope and duration of covenants, and requires clear, written terms.

This doesn’t just affect physicians—dentists, nurses, and physician assistants are now squarely in scope.

If your practice relies on non-competes to protect patient relationships or confidential information, now’s the time to revise your agreements.

🚨 Can Your Business Be Sued in Texas? Not Unless You Target Texas, Says Supreme Court

The Texas Supreme Court just clarified when companies can—and cannot—be sued here. In back-to-back rulings, the Court reaffirmed that simply doing business across the U.S. isn't enough to trigger Texas jurisdiction. Your company must intentionally target the Texas market.

We break down what this means for manufacturers, distributors, and e-commerce businesses operating nationwide—and how to protect your company from improper Texas lawsuits.

Artificial intelligence is reshaping the legal profession — but not without risks. We just published a blog post about how AI can help (and hurt) in legal practice, inspired by recent news of big firms struggling with AI’s so-called “hallucinations.”
