It was an honor to speak today on the topic of advanced video mediation techniques with fellow mediators John DeGroote, Chris Nolland, and Ross W. Stoddard, III at the 16th Annual Symposium put on by the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association. I always learn something new when I get in a “room” with these guys. These guys make me better.

Things sure have changed in the last month, both in the way we are living our lives and how we are conducting business. Likewise, lawyers and their clients now have to figure out a new way to attend and participate in mediation. If you are interested in how to get started, Chris Nolland, John DeGroote and I are putting on a 1 hour video Zoom CLE for lawyers through the Dallas Bar Association titled, “Zoom 101: Mediation for Lawyers.” We will discuss how to get you and your client up to speed with video mediation. We will walk you through the technology, the privacy and security settings, how we set up separate private conference rooms, how we can conduct joint sessions, share documents, use whiteboards, as well as put on Power Point presentations, much like an in person mediation.
