Judicial independence is not partisan. It is foundational.

LPHS partner and former federal judge Barbara M. G. Lynn and partner Yaman Desai joined a group of former federal judges and legal leaders featured in the Dallas Morning News to warn against efforts to normalize impeachment over disagreement with judicial rulings.

LPHS trial team Mary Goodrich Nix, Michael Hurst, Sara Chelette, David Coale, Gloria Jones-Walker, Amanda Alexander, and paralegal Beverly Congdon secured a jury verdict of more than $2 million in Tarrant County on behalf of the nation’s leading residential and commercial glass company.
The jury found that former employees and corporate co-conspirators engaged in a coordinated scheme to misappropriate confidential information, unlawfully solicit employees, and wrongfully take control of longstanding customer relationships.

LPHS Partners Mary Goodrich Nix, Sara Hollan Chelette, associate Farsheed Fozouni, and paralegal Beverly Congdon secured a temporary injunction in Texas Business Court on behalf of a company enforcing a noncompete agreement against a former executive.
The court found the agreement enforceable and barred the executive, who had moved into the CEO role of a direct competitor operating in the same product segment, from performing competing work anywhere in the United States.

LPHS Partner Alan Dabdoub and team Steven Gersten and Shirley Xu, secured a complete victory in a five-day commercial arbitration involving a critical long-term supply agreement.
The arbitrator declared the contract termination wrongful, awarded the client nearly $3 million in damages and attorney’s fees, and rejected the opposing party’s $2.5 million counterclaim in its entirety — a total swing of more than $5.5 million in the client’s favor.
