The theme for Women’s History Month this year is Moving Forward, Together! Women Educating and Inspiring Generations; and today, we're highlighting Arabella Mansfield ⚖️
Breaking barriers in 1869, she became the first woman to be admitted to the Bar in the United States. An educator, and leader for so many women, she passed the Iowa bar exam defying societal norms. She paved the way for countless women in law, education, and leadership.
Though history states she returned to education and did not end up actually practicing law, her achievement was the encouragement needed by many other aspiring women lawyers to take charge and follow in her footsteps.
