🚨 COURT VICTORY: A federal judge has officially blocked USCIS from enforcing new restrictions that would strip work permits from tens of thousands of immigrants. ⚖️🇺🇸

U.S. District Judge Nathaniel Gorton temporarily halted policies retroactively targeting TPS holders from El Salvador, Sudan, and Ukraine, as well as asylum applicants. The ruling prevents USCIS from prematurely revoking employment authorization while the lawsuit proceeds.

The Department of Homeland Security has issued a final rule eliminating the decades-old "Duration of Status" policy for F-1 and J-1 visa holders. The open-ended flexibility that allowed international students to stay indefinitely while enrolled is being replaced by strict, fixed limits.

DHS states the rule targets immigration fraud and prevents "forever students" from perpetually extending their stay.

The rule takes effect in 60 days, and current visa holders will be automatically capped at four years from that effective date. Proactive legal planning is now vital to protecting your status.
