West Coast VCs default to SAFEs, while Northeast investors still prefer the venerable Convertible Note. Both are flexible ways to bring in early capital, but there are real-world differences that startups should understand. See more in his full article below.

If you've raised early-stage capital in the Northeast, you've probably signed a convertible note. If you've raised anywhere else in the last few years, you've probably signed a SAFE.

The Leadership Academy is a highly selective, nine-month program designed to accelerate the professional growth of emerging legal leaders. The academy provides participants with deep insights into business, media relations, public speaking, the judicial branch, and the legislative executive branch. Program participants also complete a dedicated community service project and commit to a multi-year service term on an NHBA committee following graduation.

Upton & Hatfield, LLP brought the style, if not the scorecard, to the 2nd Annual Law Firm Charity Kickball Tournament! 👟👔

While our journey unfortunately ended in Round 1, our wardrobe choices were undefeated. Orr & Reno, PA crowned us with the unofficial, highly coveted, and well-deserved "Best Dressed" title for the tournament. We may have lacked athletic prowess, but we certainly did not lack flair.

Most importantly, the evening was a win for the community. We had so much fun with our friends in the New Hampshire legal community raising funds for 603 Legal Aid and their vital work ensuring access to justice across the Granite State.

A huge congratulations to Mainstay Technologies as this year's tournament champions. We are already planning our outfits (and considering practicing) for 2027! 🏆
