Special needs estate planning is a type of legal planning designed to provide for a loved one with a disability or special needs- without jeopardizing their eligibility for essential government benefits like SSI(supplement security income) and Medicaid.

Without proper planning, leaving money or assets directly to an individual with special needs could disqualify them from these benefits.

Special needs estate planning ensures your loved one is cared for, protected, and financially secure in a way that works with public systems, not against them.

Want to help your loved ones avoid probate?

Here are 4️⃣ strategies to keep your estate out of court and in the hands of those you trust:

📃Create a Revocable Living Trust: Transfer your assets into a trust so they pass directly to your beneficiaries without court involvement.

👥Designate Beneficiaries: Ensure your retirement accounts, life insurance, and more have up-to-date beneficiary designations.

🏠Use Joint Ownership with Right of Survivorship: Property held jointly can pass automatically to the surviving owner.

🏦Establish Pay-On-Death (POD) Accounts: Bank accounts can be set to transfer directly to a named person upon your passing.

Avoiding probate saves time, money, and stress for your family.

Our team would love to help you build a thoughtful, efficient plan.
