Meet the Founder: Genoveva Meza Talbott, Esq.
Genoveva has always been passionate about providing access to quality legal services. However, after fifteen years in private practice, she realized that the traditional law firm model does not work for the majority of people facing legal issues. This is especially true in family law. Most people do not need to hire a full-service law firm to handle all aspects of their matter, and many simply cannot afford to pay in excess of $400 per hour and five-figure retainers to hire high-quality attorneys for full representation. This is an issue of access to justice, something Genoveva cares deeply about.
Genoveva began offering unbundled legal service in her family law practice in 2017. In 2018, she plans to launch the online platform www.thelawunbundled.com to help meet the needs of more individuals that otherwise would not know where, or how to obtain, unbundled legal services.
Genoveva graduated from UCLA and USC Gould School of Law. She is a native Spanish speaker, and speaks conversational French. She dedicates much of her time to volunteering in the community, serving on non-profit boards such that serve underrepresented groups, and supporting organizations focused on increasing diversity in the legal profession. She is married to her college sweetheart, and has two young children.
