If I were starting my home search in the DMV, I wouldn’t start by scrolling through listings.
I’d start with the area.
Your commute, budget, lifestyle, schools, access to Metro, and the kind of home you want can completely change where you should be looking.
A few places I’d have on my radar:
🏡 Potomac — space, privacy, and established neighborhoods
🚇 Bethesda — convenience and easy D.C. access
📍 Rockville — variety, amenities, and transit
🏠 Gaithersburg — more space and different price points
And honestly, there isn’t one “best” place to live. There’s only the place that makes the most sense for you.
Thinking about buying in the DMV? Start with the neighborhood, then find the house.
