Some properties stop you mid-shoot. This was one of them.
134 Teaberry Lane. The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards on Lake Keowee. If you have never seen Lake Keowee in person, the photos don't fully prepare you. The water is a deep, natural emerald green fed by clean mountain streams from the Blue Ridge. 800 feet above sea level. 300 miles of shoreline. Absolutely serene.
This particular property sits on the water on three sides. Two private docks. Stone fireplaces. Cathedral ceilings. A fire pit overlooking the lake. $4.25 million worth of mountain lake living that earns every dollar.

We shoot a lot of new construction in Charleston. Every now and then a builder delivers something that genuinely makes us stop and look twice.
This Cline Homes build on Summerton Street in Mount Pleasant is one of those. A crimson clawfoot tub against hand painted tropical tile. A teal beadboard kitchen island the size of a small boat. A pantry with its own chandelier. Coffered ceilings, brass everything, a pool out back with checkered tile detail.

This one is Jocassee Waterfall: a short-term rental near Salem, SC that has everything: a soaring A-frame great room, a fully loaded designer kitchen, a private poker room, billiards, fire pit, s'mores, and burgers on the grill surrounded by trees.

We photograph a lot of beautiful homes in Charleston. Every now and then we walk into one that genuinely stops us in our tracks.
180 Broad Street is one of those. The Cooper-O'Connor House dates to circa 1855 — Greek Revival architecture, original heart pine floors, 11-foot ceilings, a piazza that earned a Carolopolis Award, and enough history in the walls to fill a book. Union officers were confined here during the Civil War. Every shell that fell on surrounding homes somehow missed this one.
Today it's a meticulously preserved, thoughtfully updated one-bedroom condo with a marble bath and a Broad Street address that doesn't come up often.
