Colorado just ranked 5th worst in the country for fatal crashes caused by aggressive or careless driving, according to a recent LendingTree analysis, using data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In 2024, 4 in 10 of our deadly crashes involved someone driving carelessly or with rage behind the wheel.

Here's the part we see up close working in personal injury law: behind every one of these road rage crashes is a real person and a family whose life changed in seconds. Tailgating, speeding, and brake-checking are choices. And when those choices hurt someone, that's negligence. We fight to hold dangerous and aggressive drivers accountable.

If you or a loved one has been injured by a dangerous driver, you have rights. And if you witness aggressive driving, get out of the way, stay safe, and report it to CSP by dialing *277. Get Ready.

In 2025, 127 pedestrians were killed on Colorado roads. That's nearly double what it was ten years ago, according to Colorado Department of Transportation, and pedestrians now make up almost one in five traffic deaths in our state.

We're proud to partner with Pedestrian Dignity, a grassroots advocacy and ARTivism project centering people who walk, roll, and ride transit for everyday life. Through lived-experience events, Walk/Roll audits, and pedestrian-vantage-point storytelling, they invite officials and community leaders to see what nondrivers actually face, and to close the gaps in unsafe infrastructure.

Ready Law is supporting their work because safer streets and stronger community voices go hand in hand. We're honored to stand with Jonathon Stalls, Alejandra X. Castaรฑeda, and the volunteers driving this project forward.

The driver in back is always at fault in a rear-end collision, right?
Not always. In Colorado, the rear driver is usually at fault, and there are good reasons for that rule. But there are also exceptions that can flip fault entirely or split it between drivers.

In our newest YouTube video, Vern Ready walks through the rule, the exceptions, and what the insurance company may already be doing to your claim without telling you.

The offer before litigation was $400.

Our client was rear-ended and pushed into the car in front of her. Her injuries were impactful, and some were lasting. Some she has accepted as her "new normal."

The insurance response to all of that was: $400.

We filed suit. After filing, we were able to recover $50,000 for her, which was all of the insurance available. Between the $400 and the $50,000, there was no new treatment. No new records. No new facts. Just fight, and an outcome that was 125x better.

Injured people deserve to be taken seriously and their losses valued. Sometimes you just have to sue to get there. Get Ready.

Do I really need a lawyer? Yeah. You do.

It's the most common question we get on the phone, on Reddit, in the DMs. Here's the short version of why the answer is almost always yes: Insurance companies are built to pay you as little as they can. A recent case of ours was a perfect example and our client was offered $400 before we filed suit. Same facts, same client, same injuries, but the final recovery was $50,000. The only difference was someone willing to fight.

If you're hurt in Colorado and trying to decide what to do next, talk to someone. Most of us will meet with you for free.
