Some late-summer sunshine!

If you haven’t made it to the Sunflower Spectacular at The Garden at Elm Bank in Wellesley, there’s still time. The Pick-Your-Own Sunflower Field has been extended through Sunday, August 30.

Wander through thousands of blooming sunflowers, pick a few to bring home, and explore the 36-acre Garden at Elm Bank.

A few of our favorite things: beautiful gardens, a little time outside, and some sunshine to take home with you.

"I was referred to Liz by my son and his wife, who had worked with her to buy a home in Cambridge MA. So when I was planning to move from New York City to be nearer to them they recommended I work with her.

I was not an easy client. While I was moving voluntarily, I was also leaving a home I loved , a city I had grown up in and friends I had since childhood. And like some New Yorkers, I was one of those who took pride in living in the best city in the world.

Liz understood my ambivalence about the move and she was respectful and also curious about what I was leaving behind. We spent many days together visiting the many neighborhoods in the Boston area. Her lack of pressure, her respect for my feelings, and her patience were just what the doctor ordered.

Liz is also a lovely person. That is relevant because we spent a lot of time together and it felt like catching up with a friend while sharing an adventure. Liz got to know me and my taste so when she said she had a special apartment to show me that she heard was about to go to market, she invited me back to Boston to take a look.

And as I write this, I am packing my possessions and waiting for the moving truck coming in a few days."

This "just sold" home means a lot to us! (Not to mention to the happy buyer and buyer agent who helped make it happen! 🎉)

Why does this one mean so much? Because of our seller — after over a decade leading large-scale apartment and commercial developments across Boston, this marks her first personal renovation project, and she knocked it out of the park. This was a great Somerville condo full of potential: open layout, private balcony, dedicated parking, and an unbeatable location near Magoun Square and the Green Line, in need of an overhaul. It's been so exciting watching her bring her vision to life, and we can't wait to see what she takes on next. 🛠️✨

A little architectural appreciation from Liz’s trip to Philly.

She was kind enough to keep an eye out for some of the city’s beautiful buildings while she was there, and honestly, Philly makes it pretty easy.

From historic churches and ornate details to the skyline views, there’s so much character tucked into the city. We love a good building with a story.

Which one would you stop to admire?

Liz’s dad has been saving his copies of The New Yorker for her, carefully setting them aside, circling his favorite articles and crossing out the ones he deems not worthy (sorry, Adam Gopnik, yer out).

As a result, Liz lugged this small stack home from Philadelphia, because how could she not? A little reading, a little family love, and a whole lot of New Yorkers.

A little summer, through Ellie’s lens.

Sunflowers in bloom, Blueberry picking, and those summer evenings when the sky seems to put on a show of its own. There’s something about this time of year that makes you want to slow down and appreciate the little things happening right in your own backyard.

How’s your summer going so far? What’s been your favorite little summer moment?

It's not easy to say goodbye to a beloved home, especially when you designed your dream kitchen! But life took our sellers three-quarters of the way across the country, to stunningly scenic Utah, and it was time. We collaborated on preparing the home—navigating the three hour time difference with ease 😉—to ensure all ran smoothly.

Thank you to our lovely Compass Cambridge colleague for helping us find the perfect buyers for this East Cambridge home!

Hello, August! This month is when tomatoes are at their best—picked ripe, bursting with flavor, and a sure sign that summer is still going strong. It's also the perfect excuse to visit your local farmers' market.

Here are a few of our favorites:
• Copley Square Farmers Market (Tuesdays & Fridays, 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM)

• Central Square Farmers Market (Mondays, 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM)

• Davis Square Farmers Market (Wednesdays, 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM)

*Enchanting Exteriors Series*

Some homes are designed to sit on the landscape. Others are designed to move with it.

Located in Georgian Bay on Lake Huron, Ontario, Canada, the Floating House by MOS Architects rests on a system of steel pontoons, allowing it to rise and fall with the changing water levels of one of North America's Great Lakes. Wrapped in warm wood and thoughtfully positioned among the rocky islands, the home embraces its natural surroundings while showcasing how architecture can adapt to the environment rather than compete with it.

Completed in 2008, this remarkable summer retreat demonstrates that great design is not only beautiful—it responds to the rhythms of nature.
