Celebrating a graduation this summer? Before hosting, it is important to understand your responsibilities under Massachusetts social host law.

Graduation parties should be memorable for the right reasons. If alcohol is served, hosts can face serious legal and financial consequences when guests are injured, injure others, or drive drunk and cause harm. The risks can be even greater when underage drinking is involved.

At Parker Scheer, we encourage families to celebrate responsibly and understand how Massachusetts social host liability law may apply before the party begins.

Celebrating 30 Years of Advocacy

Thirty years ago this month, our founders, Eric Parker and Barry Scheer, made a bold decision: to leave successful careers at other law firms and build something of their own. The move was driven not by necessity, but by a desire for greater independence, challenge, and the opportunity to do things their way.

That spirit still defines us today.

From our beginnings thirty years ago to where we are now, we’ve remained committed to delivering top-shelf legal counsel across personal injury, business litigation, and employment law, standing beside our clients when it matters most.
Thank you to our clients, colleagues, and community for your trust. We’re just getting started.

Electric scooters are designed to make getting around easier, but when a critical component fails, a routine ride can become dangerous in an instant.

Acer is recalling the Acer ES Series 5 (AES015) folding electric scooter. A screw in the front folding mechanism may not have been properly tightened during production, posing a severe fall and injury hazard if the front tube unexpectedly folds down while riding.

If you have this product in your home, take action now and review the CPSC warning for identifying details. If you or someone you know has been injured by this or any other product, call the experienced product liability attorneys at Parker Scheer for a free consultation.

Placing a loved one in a nursing home is an act of trust. When that trust is broken and serious harm occurs, families are left asking an important question: Do we have a legal case?

In Massachusetts, nursing home negligence cases are complex and require proof that a facility deviated from the accepted standard of care and caused preventable harm. Not every injury leads to a viable claim, but serious falls, medication errors, and advanced pressure ulcers often raise red flags that deserve closer review.
