This past Monday (4/13) I had the pleasure of helping host a Brain Injury Association of American (BIAA) networking event in Boston where BIAA folks, including from its MA affiliate BIA-MA, brain injury treaters and lawyers who represent TBI survivors could meet and learn from each other. This year I have the honor to serve as the Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice's liaison to the BIAA. Highlights included BIAA founder Marilyn Spivack sharing her story and Dr. Mel Glenn discussing brain injury as a chronic condition. If you or a family member have suffered a TBI you need to visit BIAA's website https://biausa.org/ to learn about all the resources and support they offer.

I had a great time earlier this week on a panel at my legal alma mater BU's School of Law to answer student questions about my plaintiff's personal injury trial practice. It was fun and inspiring to talk to a bunch of mission driven students who want to make a difference in their careers. When I was at BU the pressure was to go into a corporate practice, but that's not what I wanted and I sometimes felt very alone. Thanks to the BU Law students, especially the ones who stayed after to ask trial practice questions (I love talking trial stuff!) who made me proud to be an alumni and to my fellow panelists (and great lawyers) Jeff Catalano and Matt Fogelman and MATA's Executive Director Paul Dullea who put it all together.

In 2018 I did a blog post for my firm's website about whether the Constitution allowed a President to eliminate birthright citizenship by Executive Order. I forgot I wrote the post until earlier this week when I was looking through my blog archives for something else. The analysis is still correct (14th amendment is still the law) and even more pertinent today. If you're interested here's the link to "Can a President Eliminate Birthright Citizenship by Executive Order?"
