Your child was moved without your approval. What can you do?
Louisiana has specific requirements when a parent wants to relocate a child, and depending on the circumstances, proper notice or court authorization may be required.
If the other parent has already moved your child without following the proper relocation process, don’t assume there’s nothing you can do. The court may consider the circumstances of the relocation and, in some cases, may order the child returned or consider the relocation in a custody matter.
