Emily’s practice centers on civil litigation, particularly toxic tort and environmental cases. Her experience spans federal clerkships, high-stakes multi-state litigation, and hands-on advocacy at every stage of a case.

After serving four years as a law clerk in federal district court, Emily moved into private practice, where she helped secure multimillion-dollar recoveries in toxic tort matters. Today, she plays a key role in advancing our firm’s work in complex environmental litigation.

We’re proud to have her on our team.

Cases like this are a reminder that Louisiana landowners have real, enforceable rights when operators fail to honor their obligations and that the damage caused by environmental negligence carries serious legal consequences. If you or someone you know had historic oil and gas operations on their property, we encourage you to seek legal counsel sooner rather than later.

Louisiana landowners have powerful legal protections, but they're about to change.

Starting September 1, 2027, Act 458 will make it significantly harder to hold oil and gas companies accountable for contamination on your property. Higher burdens of proof. Tighter damage caps. Less say in cleanup plans.

Right now, the law is on your side. But the clock is ticking. If old oil and gas operations have affected your land, here's what you need to know about your rights and why acting sooner rather than later could make all the difference:

How Act 312 and the Corbello decision protects Louisiana landowners’ rights to court-approved cleanups and fair compensation and why Act 458 may change that.

Meet Michael D'Albor, a rising force in TCM's litigation group.

Michael brings exceptional academic credentials and a rare combination of legal and business acumen to his work in environmental, tort, and contract claims. A Louisiana native educated at LSU and Southern University Law Center—where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and earned recognition as a published author in two legal publications—Michael approaches every case with the same meticulous rigor that defined his academic career.
His path to TCM includes a federal judicial externship with Judge John W. deGravelles at the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana, as well as a distinguished stint as a visiting student at Cambridge University's Trinity College of Law.

We're proud to welcome Michael's sharp analytical mind and relentless drive to our team.

For too long, oil and gas operations have treated Plaquemines Parish and the communities that call it home as collateral damage. We went to trial. We fought. And we won.

This verdict represents accountability. It's a message to those companies that contributed to and profited from the loss of Louisiana's land while quietly watching it disappear.

Louisiana deserves better. We'll keep fighting until we get it.

Inheriting land often comes with more questions than answers. One of the smartest first steps is to review the property’s chain of title so you understand who owned it, what rights exist, and what obligations may still be attached. It’s not about looking for problems, just getting clarity on what you now own.

Companies don’t dodge responsibility just because they’ve restructured, renamed, or been acquired. In many cases, liability follows the corporate lineage. Best of all, the law provides pathways to hold responsible parties accountable, even decades later.

Environmental damage doesn’t expire. Neither does accountability.
