Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to travel to Easton for a trial. Although it didn't go our way, we still had time to grab some lunch and coffee at Rise Up Coffee Roasters. They were even kind enough to grind 10lbs of beans that I had shipped to my home right before our grinder broke! I recommend the Organic French Roast and my wife recommends the Organic Decaf.

Alexander Long is an attorney at Ledyard Law LLC. Yesterday, he was sworn in as a member of the Maryland Bar. But he's already made his mark in the State -- assisting in 3 jury trials and 1 bench trial. Many of you know the hard work he puts in behind the scenes -- helping to draft , pleadings, discovery, and motions every day. He has already proven his potential is , and we're proud of the what he's accomplished since he joined the firm in December.

The pandemic had a devastating effect on the restaurant community across the nation — especially in Downtown Baltimore. If you’ve visited our page over the past few months, almost every Friday our firm has lunch from a different local restaurant (yes, and some chain restaurants). It’s the least we can do for such a hard working and dedicated team. In fact, during the “State of Emergency” in Maryland, our firm bought lunch for the staff every day. It was the least we could do for the community and for the team!

If you see the restaurant mentioned, it’s because we like it a lot! We encourage everyone to eat local and tip well!

Most importantly, be patient! Many restaurants are short staffed — and the staff on hand may not be trained. We only post about our good experiences, we leave off the bad ones (which is why we are missing posts some weeks). We chalk it up to staffing issues or delivery issues (good food is hard to deliver).

As many businesses and law firms move out of the downtown area, we’ve renewed our commitment to the local business community — we are moving this Fall to new office space a few blocks from our current office.

Baltimore is wonderful city and community full of wonderful people. We are committed to making the City better and we’ll be sharing about that commitment in the coming months.

Life is defined by the people around us. Many of you know Donetta Brown as the voice when you call my law firm. Donetta has been an invaluable member of our team -- and is one of the kindest and sweetest people I know. It's been a privilege working with her the past four years, and I don't know where'd we be without her.
