In celebration of Maine Law Day, Maine Lawyers for the Rule of Law will gather outside the Portland Courthouse to hear from respected leaders and invite attorneys to renew the oath they took when joining the bar.

This oath stands to remind us to support the constitution and the Rule of Law. The Rule of Law is the foundation of our democracy and requires special attention by the entire population, but especially our legal practitioners.

On Law Day, May 1, we are given the opportunity to stand together and celebrate the Rule of Law. But we choose to practice the Rule of Law every day.

Attorney Roger Katz of Lipman Katz and Boston hosts the newest Rule of Law series exploring major threats to our 250 year old American system of justice. As Roger describes, it is this Rule of Law that protects the rights of the people and stops us from dictatorship. You can tune Monday April 6 at 7pm on Portland cable TV channels 2 and 5, to listen to Katz discuss with a distinguished panel of experts specific examples of how the rule of law is being flouted by the Trump Administration.
