I did a will with minor's trust for a client recently. He asked me if I could be his executor. "You're the only one I trust, Mark." I said I could but that it makes more sense for someone closer to the family to be executor. Since his daughter was going to get everything anyway, it was more reasonable to make her executor. He was surprised that a beneficiary and an executor could be the same person.

I represent an Atlanta resident who while on vacation in Mexico had a car accident. She didn't think it was bad and pretended it never happened, but every night since getting back her sleeping has been worse. I'm having a difficult time getting a Mexican police report (does that even exist?) but she had UM coverage so I'm not worried.

Today I had my first will done completely in a car! To my surprise, the client was wheelchair bound and could not navigate the steps to my office. So we brought the office to her! She signed where she had to sign all while her daughter kept the air conditioning on. It's always something new.

My process server went up to the house in Snellville to serve my lawsuit yesterday. The driveway was full of cars and he could hear somebody inside, but nobody came to the door. Guess we have to do this the hard way.

Since last Summer Georgia’s new adoption law eliminates a requirement that individuals must be in Georgia for six months before they can adopt and also shortens the time that birth mothers can change their mind about putting a child up for adoption from 10 days to four days. This overhaul matches the surrounding states and is long overdue.

A divorce client of mine dismissed her suit against her husband saying that she wanted to work on the marriage. Three months later he instituted divorce proceedings against her! Guess the reconciliation didn't work.

I've settled a client's case but her work goes from 8am to 6pm. "I just can't come to your office to get my check." I don't normally do this but since she convinced me that the only time she could meet was Saturday, I offered this as an option. Waffle House makes a great office!
