For victims of the Edenville Dam collapse, recovery has been slow and painful. The State has offered no compensation in five years.
I spoke to Newsweek about their ongoing fight for justice:

Five years after the Edenville Dam swallowed their homes, residents are still waiting for compensation from the state, which they blame for the tragedy.

For too long, residents of Adrian, Michigan have endured relentless, rotten-egg odors from Veos, Inc.'s egg-processing facility—making it hard to enjoy their homes, yards, and neighborhoods.

Dubin Law has filed a federal class action lawsuit to hold Veos accountable for the nuisance caused by these noxious emissions. Our goal is simple: justice and relief for the people of Adrian.

If you live near the Veos facility and have been affected by these odors, we encourage you to reach out. Your voice matters—and together, we can make it heard.

📰 MLive recently covered the story and the long-overdue fight for clean air:

Five years ago, the Edenville Dam collapsed, forcing thousands to flee their homes. But here’s what most people don’t know:

📍 Months before the collapse, the State of Michigan sued the dam owner—not for safety violations, but for killing freshwater mussels.

Boyce Hydro had lowered Wixom Lake in winter to relieve pressure on a failing dam. The State responded by suing for mussel deaths and seeking a court order to stop future drawdowns—despite knowing the dam was unsafe and couldn't pass a major flood.

Then the dam failed. Neighborhoods were destroyed. Families were displaced. And what was the Michigan DNR doing?

🐚 They were organizing a mussel rescue.

While flood victims picked through the wreckage of their homes, DNR staff focused on saving stranded mussels.

Mussels over people. Before the failure. During the failure. After the failure.

🚨 Sewage in Your Basement After the April 2–3 Storm? 🚨

If your basement looked anything like this after the recent flood, you may be entitled to compensation — but time is running out.

Under Michigan law, you have just 45 days from when you discovered the flood damage to file a written notice of claim with all responsible government agencies. That means acting now is critical.

Our law firm is helping homeowners across Michigan who suffered basement flooding and sewage backups during the April 2–3, 2025 storm.

We’re investigating whether local governments or agencies may be responsible — and if so, we’ll help you file the necessary claims to protect your rights.

Click the link to learn more.

Don’t wait. If you miss the deadline, you may lose your right to recover anything.
