Many people assume a will can handle everything.
In reality, some items do not belong in a will at all. Take these for example:

1️⃣Retirement accounts and life insurance
These pass by beneficiary designation, not by your will.

2️⃣ Jointly owned property
Ownership structure controls what happens, regardless of what your will says.

3️⃣ Assets meant to avoid court
Property held in a trust or with transfer-on-death designations should not be redirected by a will.

Putting the wrong things in the wrong place can create delays and unnecessary complications. Understanding this early helps prevent problems later.
