I didn’t need to read the newspaper to know that fall can be a really good time to buy a home.

But sometimes hearing it from somebody else helps. 😉
And this week, the Amarillo newspaper said it too: FALL COULD BE THE PERFECT TIME TO BUY.

Here’s why I like this market for the right buyer:
🍂 Less competition can mean more negotiating power.
💰 Sellers may be more open to helping with closing costs.
🏠 You may be able to negotiate repairs, a home warranty, or other terms that matter to YOU.
🤝 And you’re not fighting quite as many buyers for the house you actually want.

But let me be clear..the best time to buy isn’t simply because it’s fall.
It’s when you have stable income, you’re financially ready, you’re ready to plant some roots, or maybe you’re just ready for a fresh beginning in a home that fits where you are NOW.

The market doesn’t have to be perfect.
It just needs to make sense for you.

Our Amarillo agents recently had the opportunity to sit down with appraiser Mark Cameron for a roundtable discussion all about pricing properties and the appraisal process.

Mark shared some great insight on how to properly price a listing, common things agents should watch out for, and what goes into determining value—especially when dealing with properties in smaller communities where comparable sales can be hard to find.

Our agents were able to bring real-life property questions to the table, and we even got to hear some of Mark’s perspective (and a few appraiser pet peeves! 😉) on things that can make the appraisal process easier—or more difficult.
