Girl...was last night crazy or what?!
Every year I leave Salute to Sisters in Service with a full heart, but this year felt different. Bigger. Stronger. Special.
These women are our sisters. Our tribe. The people who just get it. The ones who understand military service, sacrifice, transition, leadership, and the sometimes messy journey that comes after taking off the uniform.
A huge shoutout to our incredible committee. What people see is a few hours of networking and inspiration. What they don't see are the months of planning, Zoom calls, meetings, emails, problem-solving, and teamwork that make this event possible. I am grateful to serve alongside such an amazing group of women veterans.
And wow... Shirley Baez absolutely brought it. Her message was powerful, authentic, and exactly what so many women in that room needed to hear.
One of my favorite parts of the evening was meeting so many first-time attendees who found us through Eventbrite. We even had a woman veteran travel from New York just to be there. That blew me away.
The growth of this event has been phenomenal. More than once last night, people mentioned that we may have outgrown the venue. What an incredible problem to have.
Watching women veterans connect, share stories, exchange numbers, laugh, support one another, and build community reminds me why this event matters so much.
My soul is full.
Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, and supported Salute to Sisters in Service. You made it unforgettable.
At Chad Barr Law, we are thankful to participate as the t-shirt sponsor each year. Our shirt said it perfectly:
"Never Underestimate a Woman with a DD214."
See you next year.
