Meet Mr. Winston, the irresistible bundle of joy who has taken our law firm by storm with a wagging tail that could power the largest of windmills and a personality to match.

We recognize that no one hires an attorney because their life is perfect, and in many cases, our clients and potential clients are going through a very painful part of their life. Mr. Winston is here to help! As our youngest and furriest support staff, Mr. Winston has not quite mastered the art of Professionalism yet, but that will not stop him from doing his best to bring a smile to your face, perhaps just a touch overly enthusiastic.
His top priority at all times is to shower you with all the love and affection he can hold between his heart and his tail, which is to say... A lot! Should you decide to reciprocate with some back scratches (his favorite) you might find yourself with a new best friend.

For those clients who may be allergic or otherwise not wish to interact with Mr. Winston for any reason, do not fret. In the event he is on duty at the time of your appointment, we will keep him in a separate room throughout the duration of the conference. And do not worry, he will not be offended.

Winston has taken it upon himself to shatter the stereotype of stern lawyers and bring an abundance of smiles, warmth, and unconditional love to our office.
With an unwavering dedication to his work, he excels in boosting morale and fostering a sense of camaraderie among our team. He's a master at fetching smiles, brightening even the most demanding days with his playful antics and infectious enthusiasm.

Having been the managing partner and primary attorney for five years, it was time to officially change the name of the firm. Law Offices of Alper & Estry will now be known as Karen Estry, P.A.

Only Way to Guarantee You Don’t Need Probate

People are frequently confused as to whether they need to probate an estate or not. The best way to guarantee that your estate does not have to go through probate is to die owning nothing and owing no one. Frankly, most of us would prefer to leave a legacy behind for our loved ones. Having a Will that is prepared for you and clarifies your wishes can simplify the probate, if there is one, and will facilitate carrying on your legacy.

In April 1972 Harvey Alper and his partner opened their legal practice on Hwy 436 across from what is now the location of the Florida Hospital. Previously, Alper had practiced for approximately one year as an assistant city attorney for the City of Jacksonville. In those days cows grazed on what is now the site of the Altamonte Mall and almost all Seminole County attorneys had their offices in Sanford. Altamonte Springs was, at most, a sleepy rural town.

The firm initially emphasized work in estate planning, business organization and domestic relations. The joke was that the firm was composed of “threshold lawyers.” They took whatever case came in over the threshold. The firm also placed heavy emphasis on providing legal aid in Seminole County to those without the ability to pay. To do so, the firm established weekend hours to meet the needs of the under-served. Later the legal aid program became a principal program of the Seminole County Bar Association and Alper was elected president of the association.

Alper and Estry, through its immediate predecessors, is the oldest law firm in continuous practice in South Seminole County. It is also one of the oldest firms in Seminole County as a whole.
