When people are going through something serious, they often feel like they need to hold everything together.
But what actually helps most is usually much smaller than that.
A routine. A walk. Making coffee the same way every morning.
Showing up even when your mind is somewhere else.
These are what our in-house social worker calls "ordinary anchors." ⚓
They don't fix the situation. But they help people stay steady inside of it.
Legal situations don't pause life. Cases can take months. And people still have to keep going — showing up for their kids, their jobs, themselves — while everything feels uncertain.
In our work, we see how much those small steadying things matter.
You don't have to have it all together. You just have to keep finding the next small thing to hold onto. 🌿
