Happy Friday! ☕🏡
For most people, Friday means the end of the work week. For Josh and I, in Real Estate & Property Management, there really is no end to the work week. It's a grind every single day.
I am incredibly grateful to be busy, but I'm not going to lie—this week has been overwhelming. Between the long days, the pain from my hip, and being stuck in the office while I'm not allowed to drive, I hit a point today where I seriously asked myself, "Why do I keep doing this?"
In the last two weeks alone, we've taken on 2 new owners, added 6 more doors, started working with 2 new buyers, put 2 properties under contract, and shown more houses than I can even remember. Since my walking is limited, Josh has been handling 99% of the showings, inspections, meetings, and running around all over Northeast Ohio.
Yesterday, I finally got to tag along for a showing. If you know me, you know how hard it was to stay downstairs and not walk through the house with everyone! The best part of the day was since we were in Brunswick—it was surprising my niece and nephew. Hearing them come running over yelling "Auntie!" completely made my day.
After that, it was back home, struggling to get into the house, working until midnight, and barely sleeping because of the pain. (Hip Replacement counting down the days)
Then this morning started with sending Josh out the door to property walkthroughs, owner meetings, drive-bys, and showings in Lake County while I stayed behind handling emails, applications, offers, releases, and everything else that comes with the business.
And then something happened today!
A client we've helped walk away from three different homes texted and emailed me saying, "Thank you. We appreciate all you guys do and how much you care." I truly thought he would be upset - Instead it was graitude!
A little later, Josh called after a meeting with one of our owners and said they told him they were happy with everything we've accomplished for their properties over the last six months and that they made the right decision hiring us.
I'm not ashamed to admit those two conversations brought me to tears today.
Because THAT is why we do this.
Not because it's easy. Not because the days are short. Not because the complaints magically stop.
We do it because we genuinely care.
We care about our owners and their investments.
We care about our buyers and sellers.
We care about our tenants.
We care about helping people make good decisions, even when it means walking away from a deal.
Some days are exhausting. Some days are frustrating. But reminders like today make every long day worth it.
To all of our clients who trust us with your homes, investments, and biggest life decisions—thank you. We appreciate you more than you'll ever know. ❤️
