With retirement visa option, the country provides a convenient pathway for individuals looking to spend their golden years in this tropical paradise.
To be eligible for a retirement visa in Thailand, you must meet the following requirements:
✔️ Age: Applicants must be at least 50 years old.
✔️ Financial Means: You must demonstrate that you have a certain level of financial stability to support yourself during your stay in Thailand. The current requirement is a minimum monthly income of 65,000 THB or a bank account balance of at least 800,000 THB. These figures are subject to change, so it is advisable to verify the updated requirements before applying.
When applying for a retirement visa, you will need to gather the following documents:
▪️A valid passport with a remaining validity of at least 18 months.
▪️Application form provided by the Thai embassy or consulate.
▪️Financial proof: provide evidence of your financial stability, such as bank statements or an income affidavit.
▪️Medical certificate from a recognized medical professional stating that you are physically and mentally fit to reside in Thailand.
▪️Police clearance certificate: some Thai embassies or consulates may require a police clearance certificate to ensure you have no criminal record.

Once granted, a retirement visa allows you to stay in Thailand for an initial period of one year. After this period, you can extend your visa by applying for an annual renewal.
