We were honored to be invited to speak at the seminar “Governance, Risk and Compliance for Sustainable Management”, co-hosted by the Thai Embassy Tokyo and the Association for Overseas Technical Corporation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) on 26 May 2026 at the Royal Thai Embassy, Tokyo.

Theeranit Pongpanarat (Nick), our Bangkok office Employment and Investigation, Compliance and Ethics Partner led the discussion on the importance of governance for risk management and how effective compliance program in the organization helps close the gaps and strengthen risk management, as well as tools to support risk management and practical process and protocols for managing risks, particularly the importance of holistic risk assessment and risk management in light of sustainable growth and the increased focus on ESG throughout the supply chains. Theeranit was joined by Masao Katsuyama, Partner from Tokyo office and Varutt Kittichungchit, Senior Associate in Bangkok’s Japan Advisory Group.

The seminar attracted 42 participants from Japan-based companies and organizations across sectors, joining physically and on-line. We would like to sincerely thank the Royal Thai Embassy Tokyo and AOTS for the organization and look forward to our future cooperations.

On 11 May 2026, our Wealth Management team, led by Khun Panya Sittisakonsin and Khun Nitikan Ramanat, in collaboration with Raffles Family Office, hosted a client seminar titled "Offshore Trusts & Family Office: Practical Insights for Thai Families."

The seminar opened with welcoming remarks by Khun Panya Sittisakonsin, followed by presentations from our distinguished guest speakers. Khun Prapa Pearce, Executive Director at Ocorian (Jersey Office), presented on "Trusts for Wealth Management: Overview and Real World Case Studies," and Professor Kitipong Urapeepatanapong, Chairperson of The Stock Exchange of Thailand, delivered thought provoking remarks on "Why Thailand Needs Trust Laws for Private Wealth Management." Khun Nitikan Ramanat, together with Khun Nattadej Hemyakorn, provided valuable insights into Thai tax considerations relating to trust structures in their session titled "Offshore Trusts: Key Thai Tax and Legal Considerations." This was followed by a panel discussion on “Why Family Office Matters,” featuring Khun Chompan Kulnides, Managing Director of Minor Holdings (Thai) Limited, Khun Thidatip Thitikarunwong, Managing Director and Market Head of Thailand at Raffles Family Office, and Khun Nitikan Ramanat. The panel was moderated by Khun Jirayu Jareechaiyothin of Raffles Family Office.

With over 120 high net worth clients in attendance, the event was highly successful and concluded with a valuable networking cocktail reception.

On 6 May 2026, Duangkamon Amkaew and Papon Kanungvanichakul, in collaboration with JLL, co-hosted the seminar “Thailand's Luxury Evolution: Strategic Differentiation and Future Growth” at Andaz One Bangkok.

The session brought together industry leaders, including Duangkamon Amkaew, Siradej Donavanik (Dusit International), Nida Wongphanlert (137 Pillars Hotels & Resorts), and Sunny Bajaj (Amburaya Hospitality), who shared insights on the evolving dynamics of Thailand’s luxury hospitality sector. Discussions focused on key drivers of success, including positioning strategies to achieve strong average daily rate growth, shifting guest preferences, and the legal frameworks supporting market adaptability in a competitive environment.

Speakers also explored Thailand’s luxury hospitality landscape across key destinations, highlighting market forecasts and how owners and operators are strategically positioning their assets for continued growth amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty. The session provided a well-rounded perspective combining commercial, operational, and legal considerations relevant to stakeholders in the sector.

The seminar was well attended by representatives from hotel ownership groups, hospitality operators, investors, and advisory teams. The session concluded with a networking reception over refreshments, where participants continued discussions, exchanged perspectives, and further strengthened industry connections.

On 1 April 2026, Baker McKenzie and EY jointly hosted the seminar “Winning in Life Sciences M&A: Deal Drivers and Strategic Structuring” at the EY Thailand office.

The discussion was led by Partners Nuchaya Timrat and Panyavith Preechabhan, alongside Kasem Kiatsayikul (Partner, Tax Leader, EY Thailand), Pinpaka Akaranuphong (Partner, Financial Accounting Advisory Services Leader, EY Thailand), and Rada Sujirachato (Associate Partner, Transaction Diligence, EY Parthenon Thailand). Speakers shared insights on global Life Sciences M&A trends, preparation for growth across the M&A lifecycle, and key success factors for successful deal ex*****on and value creation. The session provided a comprehensive view of the Life Sciences M&A landscape, covering market trends, deal drivers, and cross functional considerations across Legal, Financial & Accounting, and Tax perspectives.
