On the 7th August Baker McKenzie Competition Practice Group in Bangkok, led by partners, Ampika Kumar and Jaywon Yi, co-hosted “A Conversation on Competition Regulations in the Digital Platform Economy” with Thammasat Law Extension (TULEX - LeTec). The event featured a distinguished panel of experts, including Prof. Christopher Yoo from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, Assoc. Prof. Sudharma Yoonaidharma and Pol. Lt. Gen. Pittaya Siriraksa from the Trade Competition Commission of Thailand, prominent lecturers from Thammasat University, Assoc. Prof. Puree Sirasoontorn, Ph.D., Krisadhikhun Tangdham, and Supruet Thavornyutikarn, Ph.D., and Stephen Crosswell, Head of the Antitrust and Competition Practice for APAC.

The seminar shed light on key trends and regulatory developments, emerging issues in the digital platform ecosystem, and practical insights to help businesses navigate an evolving regulatory landscape.

We were honored to be invited as speakers at BRIDGE-AI Summit 2026 (Building Regional Medical Innovation in Digital Growth and Education through AI) where our Healthcare and Life Sciences Associate, Praween Chantanakomes, and Technology Associate, Chanaporn Anurukwongkul, spoke on the topic “Legal Aspects on AI Healthcare”.

The two-day summit, organized by the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, was held under the core theme, "Achieving Patient Outcomes through Innovative Practice & Medical Education," on 20–21 July 2026 at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University. The summit brings together policymakers, academic leaders, clinicians, educators, researchers, industry innovators, and students across a two-day program focused on Digital Technology & Innovation and AI & Innovation in Medical Education.

Baker McKenzie Thailand was honored to have co-sponsored the Bangkok Post International Mini Marathon 2026: Run for Nurses (15th Edition), held in celebration of the Bangkok Post's 80th anniversary. Organized by Bangkok Post Public Company Limited in collaboration with B.GRIMM Power Public Company Limited, the event took place on 19 July 2026, at Suan Luang Rama IX Park. Led by Sumet Orsirivikorn, our team proudly participated in the mini marathon alongside fellow runners from across the community. Participants competed for the Royal Trophy graciously bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, highlighting the significance of this longstanding annual event.

On 16 July 2026, our Technology team hosted the seminar “Thailand’s Draft AI Act: What Does It Mean for Your Business?”, led by Partners Pattaraphan Paiboon and Kritiyanee Buranatrevedhya, together with Senior Associate Aue-angkul Santirongyuth.

The session explored the regulatory direction of AI in Thailand, key provisions of the draft legislation, potential implications for businesses, and practical steps organizations can take to prepare.
