𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟖–𝟐𝟗 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Bangkok wishes to inform all concerned that, following the announcement of the Royal Thai Government declaring Monday, 28 September and Tuesday, 29 September 2026 as special government holidays in Bangkok and the neighbouring provinces of Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan due to the prevailing flooding situation and related travel disruptions, consular services of the Embassy will remain suspended on these two days.

Regular consular services will resume on Wednesday, 30 September 2026. The Embassy appreciates the understanding and cooperation of all concerned.

A bilateral meeting was held between H.E. Mr. Tarique Rahman, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh, and H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Thailand, on Thursday, 24 September 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, on the sidelines of UNGA81. During the meeting the two sides exchanged views on further strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation across the areas of mutual interests including expanding trade and investment, enhancing economic and development cooperation, as well as on various regional and international issues.

H.E the Ambassador paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand this afternoon.
During the meeting both sides discussed pursuing bilateral relations across multifaceted dimensions including high level engagements, trade and investment, connectivity, agriculture, defence, energy and food security, labour mobility, tourism, and people-to-people ties.
The Hon’ble Minister assured the Ambassador of his full support and cooperation throughout the Ambassador’s tenure in Thailand towards further strengthening and elevating Bangladesh-Thailand bilateral relations to a new height.

A bilateral meeting was held between H.E. Mr. Iqbal Hassan Mahmood, Hon’ble Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources of Bangladesh, and H.E. Mr. Akanat Promphan, Hon’ble Minister of Energy of Thailand, on 17 September on the sidelines of Gastech Exhibition & Conference in Bangkok.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation in energy sector. Both Ministers agreed to hold regular meeting of the Joint Working Group under the existing bilateral arrangement to explore untapped potential in this sector. The possibilities of LNG trade, cooperation in renewable energy, technology transfer and investment were also highlighted during the discussion.
