We are pleased to announce that Mr. Ming Wing Cheong will be joining Chung Ting Fai & Co. in October this year as our Business Development Manager.
Mr. Ming graduated from the National University of Singapore with a degree in Chinese Studies and subsequently obtained a Master's degree in Public Administration from Nanyang Technological University.
He spent ten years as a journalist with Lianhe Zaobao, Singapore's leading Chinese-language newspaper, where he gained extensive experience in news reporting, editorial work, and public communications.
Prior to joining our firm, Mr. Ming served as Assistant Director of the Confucius Institute at Nanyang Technological University, where he was responsible for Chinese language education, cultural promotion, programme development, and cross-cultural exchanges. He also conducted professional Chinese language training for corporate executives, healthcare professionals, and personnel from public sector organisations.
Mr. Ming is also a Council Member of the Singapore Society of Asian Studies, where he contributes to the promotion and study of the history and culture of Chinese communities in Asia and Southeast Asia.
With his bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese, together with his extensive experience in the media, education, public communications, and community engagement, Mr. Ming will play an important role in expanding the firm's business network, strengthening client relationships, and fostering collaboration with businesses, professional organisations, and diverse communities.
We warmly welcome Mr. Ming to our team and look forward to the fresh perspectives and renewed momentum he will bring to the continued growth and development of our firm.

Our firm is pleased to have successfully concluded the second batch of the Attachment Programme for lawyers from the Hainan Bar Association.

Over the course of the programme, we had the privilege of hosting four lawyers from Hainan, China, providing them with first-hand exposure to various aspects of legal practice in Singapore. The attachment also offered insights into the day-to-day operations and management of a Singapore law firm, including legal practice, client service, professional ethics, and practice administration.

It was a rewarding opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences, and strengthen professional ties between the Singapore and Hainan legal communities. We look forward to continuing this meaningful collaboration and welcoming future batches of lawyers under the programme.

We are pleased to announce Mr Matthew Wong has joined us as a consultant.

Mr Matthew Wong is a solicitor practicing in the HKSAR since 1999 and he is currently the managing partner of Messrs. Hon & Co., a Solicitors firm established since 1939. Practically speaking, Mr Wong specializes in the areas of corporate finance, civil and criminal litigation, international arbitration and mediation. Academically, he is the Adjunct Professor in the University of Hong Kong.

Apart from the legal practice in Hong Kong, Mr Wong is the Greater Bay Area Lawyer and China Appointed Attesting Officer in China, registered foreign lawyer of Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC), registered lawyer with rights of audience in Astana International Financial Court (AIFC) in Kazakhstan, and registered lawyer of Dubai International Financial Court (Part II Registration)(DIFC).

In respect of Arbitration, Mr Wong is the associate member of CIArb, arbitrator of APIAC, arbitrator in Beijing, Nanning, Hainan International Arbitration Centre in China, as well as arbitrator in Tashkent International Arbitration Centre in Uzbekistan.
