Perspectives on Public Law: Essays on Fundamental Rights Roadshow

We had an engaging afternoon at Advance Tertiary College (ATC) KL yesterday, where RDS and ATC hosted a talk titled “Judiciary and the Legal System”.

The panel members featured RDS Consultant Dato’ Seri Hishamudin Yunus, who is also a Retired Court of Appeal Judge and SUHAKAM, Hayden Tan, RDS Partner, Daniel Abishegam, Academic Director of Advance Tertiary College; and Nishooldran Ravindran, RDS Pupil. Their insights sparked engaging conversations on fundamental rights, the role of the judiciary, and constitutional governance in Malaysia.

It was a great opportunity for students and legal minds to connect, reflect, and learn beyond the classroom.

Thank you to ATC and all participants for making this roadshow a success and for continuing the conversation on public law and access to justice.

Learning Beyond The Classroom

Around 44 RDS Interns 2026 had the opportunity to visit two key institutions at the heart of dispute resolution in Malaysia.

They visited AIAC to understand the world of international arbitration and ADR, followed by a visit to the Kuala Lumpur High Court to observe proceedings and the realities of litigation.

From hearing rooms to courtrooms, it was a day of real conversations and real exposure.

Thank you to AIAC and the KL High Court for hosting our interns and for inspiring the next generation of lawyers.

The Conversation Continues: Japan–Malaysia Arbitration Forum 2026

Arbitration in Asia is evolving and yesterday’s Forum at AIAC showed why dialogue matters.

From the rise of third-party funding to the complexities of investor-state disputes, speakers from Japan and Malaysia shared practical insights and jurisdictional perspectives.

We were pleased to have RDS Partners, Vinayak Sri Ram and Kamilah Kasim join the panel discussions at the Forum.

RDS was one of the supporters of this Forum yesterday together with the AIAC, JFBA and Selangor Bar in organising this Forum.

RDS remains committed to supporting the growth of international arbitration in the region where a number of our dispute resolution partners are active in arbitration proceedings including DP Naban, Nagarajah Muttiah, Kamilah Kasim, Austen Pereira, Kenny Lam, and Vinayak Sri Ram.

RDS Partnership at the ATC Legal Careers Fair 2026

Thank you to Advance Tertiary College and the students who visited us at our booth on level 1.

It was good speaking with aspiring lawyers from ATC and other institutions about internships, pupillage and other career opportunities at RDS Partnership.

We are inspired by the passion of this future generation of lawyers and we hope to have them as part of RDS in the near future.

Today our RDS Interns 2026 joined Dr Bahari Yeow, Partner at RDS, for an Advocacy Training session in the RDS Boardroom.

RDS was part of the ESG Regional Roundtable in Kuala Lumpur, which took place today at the Majestic Hotel. It brought together leaders from law, finance, business and civil society to discuss the future of ESG in ASEAN.

From sustainable finance and the ASEAN Taxonomy to boardroom accountability and emerging ESG risks, the session tackled the challenges and opportunities shaping responsible business today.

Representing RDS Partnership on the panels were Raphael Tay, who moderated the Q&A for the Plenary Session; Shivani Sivanesan, who spoke on Key Issues in ESG; Amira Azhar, who joined the discussion on the Financial Sector & ASEAN Taxonomy; and Michele Kythe, who contributed to Session 3 on ESG in the Board Room.

We valued the opportunity to engage with peers and experts, and to share insights on how legal and policy frameworks can drive sustainable and responsible business in the region.
