Childsafetyatwork

Childsafetyatwork Assisting in creating a healthy and safe environment for children. An offender can be a child’s known or total stranger.

We believe that, child sexual abuse (CSA) is the social exploitation and victimization of a child by an adult, adolescent or another child. Compared to adults, children find it much more difficult to disclose abuse due to several reasons. A perpetrator need not necessarily be an adult. Also, it’s not always a male who is a sexual offender. Similarly, it’s not always a girl child who is the victim.

We view such matters extremely seriously as they not only lead to illegal acts but also result in long term trauma for the child continuing to their adult life as well. We support organizations & institutions in their efforts towards a harassment free environment (www.childsafetyatwork.com). We believe that creation of awareness on POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act) and training of those involved in redressal mechanism is a must for a healthy and safe environment for Children.

As the year changes, our responsibility to keep children safe remains. While calendars turn, contexts shift and children grow, the need for awareness, preparedness, and accountability stays constant — even as children’s needs shift across developmental stages. Child safety is not seasonal; it is an everyday commitment that calls for attentiveness, openness, and shared responsibility across homes, schools, and communities.

At Child Safety at Work, powered by we support organisations, educators, caregivers, and professionals through expert-led training, certifications, and practical tools that strengthen safeguarding skills, reinforce systems, and enable safer environments for children — all year round.

The festive season often comes with a lot of fun, celebration, and connection. These shifts in routine can also bring a range of experiences for children — some joyful, and some more uncertain. As caregivers and educators, it’s important to ensure that child safety remains at the centre of our focus, even as days become fuller and more fluid.

As routines shift and more people and connections are invited into children’s primary circles, child safety means staying gently attentive. Allow children space to speak up, encourage them to trust their instincts, and support them in practising safe, respectful engagement with peers and others. Presence, openness, and care matter — especially during times of change.

We asked, you answered.
Your insights underline an important truth: when children’s grief is misunderstood or overlooked, they carry it alone. Awareness, attunement, and ongoing support can make a meaningful difference.
Children grieve differently from adults — and often quietly. Their grief may show up through behaviour, play, regression, repetitive questions, or long stretches of seeming “okay.” This doesn’t mean they’re unaffected; it means they’re processing loss in the only ways they know how.
What children need most is not fixing or shielding, but honest, age-appropriate conversations, consistent reassurance, and safe adults who can tolerate their feelings without rushing them. Grief for children is not linear — it resurfaces as they grow, understand, and make new meaning.
Creating spaces where children’s grief is recognised, named, and supported — at home, in schools, and in our communities — helps reduce confusion, shame, and isolation.
If you’re a caregiver, educator, or professional working with children, pause and ask:
How can I make space for a child’s grief today?

As we observe the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, it’s crucial to highlight the intersection of childhood and neurodivergence — a combination that sadly increases the risk of gendered violence.
🔹 Neurodivergent children face a higher risk of childhood sexual abuse. Their unique ways of communicating and understanding boundaries can sometimes be misunderstood or exploited by perpetrators.
🔹 They are more vulnerable to violence within their natal families. Family dynamics can sometimes turn abusive, and neurodivergent children may lack access to protective resources or be less able to disclose abuse.
🔹 Bullying from peers is a persistent threat. Social differences and sensory sensitivities often make neurodivergent children targets for bullying, which can escalate to harmful gendered violence.
🔹 Online bullying is a significant factor that affects neurodivergent children’s mental health. The digital world can amplify feelings of isolation, misunderstanding, and grief, making it harder for them to cope and find safe spaces.

This period of activism calls for increased awareness, protective measures, and inclusive support systems that recognize these overlapping vulnerabilities. Let’s commit to creating safer spaces for all children, especially those who are neurodivergent.

Yesterday was World AIDS Day. In the light of this day, we at Child Safety at Work honour the strength and resilience of children living with or affected by HIV.
Many navigate not only health challenges but also stigma, silence, and barriers to care that no child should ever face.

Today is a reminder that every child deserves:
• Access to early testing and treatment
• Safe, supportive, stigma-free environments
• Accurate information and protection from discrimination
• Compassionate adults who listen, advocate, and stand by them

Today, let’s commit to creating communities where all children - especially those most vulnerable — feel safe, included, and empowered — and where their health and dignity are protected, always.

A future without stigma begins with how we show up for children today.

If you’re committed to enhancing child safety and ensuring safer spaces for every child, connect with us today to learn how our specialised services can support your journey.

Children across the gender spectrum are facing risks that are changing faster than the systems meant to protect them. Digital spaces, harmful norms and the silence around their lived experiences increase their vulnerability in ways that many adults are still learning to understand.

During the 16 Days of Activism, our child safety at work team highlights why it is essential to build deeper and more current skills. When we upskill with expert guidance, we strengthen our ability to recognise warning signs, respond with confidence and create environments where every child is safe and treated with dignity. This is the moment to evolve our understanding, to act and to show children that their safety is non-negotiable.

A nine‑year‑old’s death in Jaipur has shone a stark light on school safety and failed grievance processes. Parents say prior complaints about bullying weren’t resolved.

Bullying isn’t harmless — it erodes safety, mental health and, in worst cases, has tragic outcomes. Small signs — repeated refusals, reports of bad language, withdrawal — must trigger action and redressal, not silence.

This Anti‑Bullying Week let’s take this preventable tradegy as our call to action. Let us reflect on the ways we can centre the wellbeing of children and their safety in educational institutions.
