A total of 8,408 new homes were commenced in Q1 2026, marking a 184% increase year-on-year. March alone delivered a 293% rise, signalling strong and sustained momentum in new residential construction.

Excluding previous levy-driven spikes, this represents the highest level of new build commencements on record.
