Another brilliant review for the Motorcycle Law Scotland team. 🏍️

A huge thank you for the kind words — and well done to Jack for taking the time to make everything clear and straightforward.

Advanced riding 🏍️ . Advanced driving 🚗. Advanced legal support.

At RTA LAW, many of our team hold IAM RoadSmart Advanced qualifications , not just for motorcycles, but in motor vehicles too.

That means we understand:
✔ Road positioning
✔ Hazard perception
✔ Driver and rider behaviour

It’s the kind of detail that can make all the difference in a road traffic injury claim.

Because the best representation comes from those who know the road inside out.

⭐ Another fantastic client testimonial for Motorcycle Law Scotland.

After witnessing her daughter being involved in a motorcycle accident, Corrinne contacted us following a recommendation from a friend.

What she didn’t realise was that, having witnessed such a traumatic event, she may also be entitled to make a claim in her own right.

Thomas and James guided Corrinne through the process, with James keeping her updated every step of the way through to settlement.

We’re delighted to have been able to support Corrinne and her family at what was an incredibly difficult time.

🏍️ If you or a family member have been affected by a serious motorcycle accident, speak to a team that understands motorcycling, serious injury claims and the wider impact an accident can have.

Congrats 👏 to Borders Group of Advanced Motorists Associate, Angus MacDonald, on passing his IAM RoadSmart Advanced motorcycle 🏍️ training course with a F1rst. Pictured here with his Observer, Ali Finlay.

We were delighted to be able to sponsor his course as we believe that all riders should become 'advanced' riders and learn to use IPSGA which is the five-step methodical system of vehicle control used in advanced motorcycle training to safely approach and negotiate hazards.

🏍️ What a turnout for MR MOTO's Poker Run 2026!🙌♠️♥️♣️♦️

We were proud to support Mr Moto’s 4th Annual Poker Run in Forres on Sunday.

The weather played ball, the bikes turned out in force, and there was a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day. 🌞

Best of all, a fantastic amount was raised for local charities – final total to be confirmed! 👏💙

A huge well done to the team for putting on another cracking event, and thanks to everyone who took part, donated and helped make the day such a success.

Great to catch up with so many of you. Already looking forward to the next one! 🏍️

We were thrilled to catch up with our client, Adam Kolokas at the Two Wheels Edinburgh Honda | Edinburgh Triumph - Two Wheels 50th Anniversary event on Sat where he took the opportunity to tell us how his recovery was going.

From hospital and rehabilitation to finally getting back on his bike, we're delighted to have been able to support him throughout his recovery and claim.

Adam's story is a powerful reminder of why specialist representation matters after a serious motorcycle accident.

🏍️ If you've been injured in a motorcycle accident in Scotland and need advice, please speak to us as we understand motorcycling as well as the law.

🏍️ Bikers - we want your opinion! 🏍️

We’re thinking about producing a Motorcycle Law Scotland patch for your leathers… but would you actually wear one?

👍 YES - get them made!
👎 NO - not for me.

And if the answer’s yes, what would you want it to look like? Small and subtle, or big and bold? Style? Shape?

🏍️ WHO DO YOU THINK WAS AT FAULT?

Watch the CCTV footage before making up your mind.

Our client was riding above the speed limit and decided to overtake a car ahead, believing the driver was pulling over to park.

But the driver was actually turning right and turned across the motorcyclist's path.

Our client suffered a serious ankle fracture and the driver's insurers disputed liability.

So, who was responsible?

The answer isn't as straightforward as you might think.

We examined the CCTV, the Highway Code and important case law, including Hernandez v Acar. The claim ultimately settled on a split liability basis weighted in favour of the motorcyclist.

This case is a useful lesson for riders and drivers alike, particularly about overtaking, observations, right turns and the responsibilities owed to vulnerable road users.

If you've been injured in a motorcycle collision – even where you think you may have been partly responsible – don't assume you can't make a claim. Speak to a specialist motorcycle accident lawyer.
