Further Leave to Reamin Granted - Spouse Visa Approved Within 5 Days

We are honoured to share another successful outcome for our client, who switched from a Graduate Visa to a Spouse Visa from within the UK.

Our client initially entered the UK as a Student Visa holder with her former partner. After the relationship came to an end, she finalised her divorce and later formed a genuine relationship with her British partner. The couple married in Nigeria, and we submitted her Spouse Visa application using the Super Priority Service.

The case involved a key challenge: although the couple were married, they were not living together at the time of application. The sponsor was employed in London, while the applicant was employed in Manchester, where her daughters were also enrolled in school.

At X Law, we prepared detailed legal representations and provided strong supporting evidence to explain the couple’s circumstances. Despite a further information request from the Home Office, the application was approved within 5 days.

We were delighted to attend the event organised by Innovator International at Venture Café London, where the discussion focused on innovation, business growth, and the journey from idea to ex*****on.

Representing X Law, we had the opportunity to engage with valuable insights around the Innovator Founder route, market validation, and what makes a business genuinely distinct.

One key takeaway was that innovation is not just about having an idea. It comes from living the idea, testing it, validating it, and proving that there is a real need in the market. Strong applications and strong businesses are built on evidence, focus, and clear ex*****on.

The session also highlighted some common challenges founders face, including a lack of focus, weak go-to-market strategies, limited primary research, and uncertainty around the destination of the business. For founders, practical steps such as preparing shareholder agreements, securing the right insurance, appointing accountants, and stepping outside their comfort zone can make a real difference.

X Law attended the Immigration Law Update in Manchester

We had a great afternoon attending the Immigration Law Update training at Friends Meeting House in Manchester, delivered by Barrister Adam Pipe and organised by For Media Group.

The session was highly insightful and covered key developments in immigration law, including proposed changes to settlement, increased English language requirements for Skilled Workers, updates on suitability rules, good character issues in British citizenship applications, and recent changes affecting entry clearance and permission to stay applications.

A particularly important reminder was the responsible use of AI in legal work, including the need to fact-check sources carefully and ensure that all advice, representations, and applications are prepared to the highest professional standard.

The training also covered useful developments in deportation cases, exceptional circumstances, Article 8 arguments, and relevant case law that can assist in preparing strong representations to the Home Office.

At X Law, continuous legal development is central to the way we work. Events like this allow us to stay informed, stay connected, and stay ahead, so we can continue supporting our clients with accurate, practical, and up-to-date immigration advice.
